The Process
How does it work?
Call or email me and we’ll set up a time when I can visit your home, listen to what your needs and wishes are, take notes, and we can look at my portfolio. We can also talk about time lines and budgets. I don’t charge for this.
What’s next?
I provide you with a proposal that outlines how many hours I’ll spend on the design, what the scope of work will be, and the design fee. I break the proposal into two phases, preliminary and final. If the design proposal looks good, you sign and send it back with a deposit check.
What can I expect in the preliminary design phase?
I will measure and create a scale plan. All elements of the design will be included. For projects with a large amount of hardscape (structures, paving, etc.) I sometimes wait until the final phase to do the planting plan; otherwise, I will include it. I meet with you to review the design and provide a preliminary budget.
What can I expect in the final design phase?
After meeting with you, I’ll make any changes to the design and complete the final drawings. A final budget is provided and work scheduled.
What about the installation?
I can provide all of the installation or construction supervision to ensure compliance with the design drawings. During the installation, I am in contact with you regarding the progress of the project and any changes that might affect the budget. I provide daily project management and a team of highly skilled subcontractors.
