Design Philosophy
Careful space planning is critical. All elements of the landscape are equally important: driveways, drainage, fences, water features, patios, paths, lighting, irrigation, container gardens, and plantings that are interesting and beautiful throughout the year. Especially on small lots, structures such as garages and garden sheds are often included in the design. Connecting the home to the landscape may require the re-design of an entry or porch or the selection of paint and stain colors. Being both the designer and the contractor is so important because I am thinking about all aspects of the project right from the beginning.
My background includes degrees in fine arts and architectural interior design, a lifelong love of gardening and years as a master gardener. I bring a fresh approach to each project and am committed to enriching the environment through sound, organic practices. Even though a project may involve a lot of structural elements, the plants are ultimately what it’s all about...having your own beautiful, outdoor place to be.
